APC (Part 2) for Aliens, Predators, and Marines

I'm about ready to paint the APC, but I wanted to post some before pictures.

So here is the back of the APC. I installed a hatch since there wasn't one to begin with.

A couple of additional views of the turret.

APC (Part 1) for Aliens, Predators, and Marines

Working on an APC for the marines. I am going to use an army toy I got at the dollar general ($8?). I believe it is based on a LAV-300.

Here it is with the cannon removed. There is nova squad member from the reaper bones line next to it to show it's scale.

Since the wheels don't have that flat plate like on the APC in Aliens, I am gluing some plastic on them before I spray paint it.

Some more Fast Lane cars.

So here is the third set of Fast Lane ($7.99) cars I got.

First up is the Porsche 911 Turbo

Nice little sports car.

Next up is the BMW Z4.

Another speedy convertible.

Last up is the BMW Series 3 Touring.

Hopefully Mr. J likes his four door wagon. It is nice not to have all sports cars.

Another visit to Toys R Us

Fast Lane Part 2

We had to visit Toys R Us again, and I went and looked at the cars. I saw the Fast Lane ($7.99) set and wondered if they only had one set. I then discovered they had other sets. It is hard to tell since they have set up the colors of the cars to match up with other sets so on a quick glance they look the same.

First up is the BMW M3.

Nice 2-door sedan.

Next is the Porsche Boxter.

Nice sports car.

Last up is the BMW Series 7.

A four door sedan is great. The down side is this car is big compared to most of the other Fast Lane cars.

I picked up another Fast Lane set, I'll have those in my next post.

Other Cars from Dollar General

I promised I would post the other cars I got from the Dollar General at my last visit (for $2.75 each), well here they are.

First up is a Dodge Viper.

Next up is a pair of Corvettes.

First is a yellow Corvette convertible.

And then a red Corvette.

Smooth and sexy and dangerous if you don't know how to handle them.
And the cars are pretty powerful also.

Another Visit to Dollar General

I was visiting a relative in another town. As I was leaving, I stopped by a local Dollar General to see if they had any more New Ray City Cruisers or Bburago Street Fire cars. I was in luck, they had five Street Fires ($2.75 each) that I hadn't picked up before. I also grabbed another motocycle ($1). I'm going to split it up in two posts.

First up is the motorcycle.

Scott better watch out, Logan might show up and grab his bike.

Next is a Dodge Magnum.

I'm sure it is no surprise that Mary Jane likes red.

Now we have a Ford Mustang.

Sexy american muscle car, even the Russians love it (especially if it is in red).

Toys R Us Fast Lane

I had to stop by Toys R Us today and I found this three pack of Fast Lane cars ($7.99).

Let's start with the BMW Z8.

Next up is the Mitsubishi Lancer.

Last but not least is the Porsche Cayenne.

They all look pretty good.

US Toy Purchase Part 2

So in the last post I showed some of the purchases I made from US Toy that I thought fit nicely in size.
This time I want to look at the two vehicles I got that didn't look like their sizes are going to work right.

First up is a taxi cab ($5.95).

At first glace the taxi just seems too big compared to the other vehicles.
Though I will admit that looking at these pictures, it doesn't look too terrible.
It might work, as long as the smaller vehicles were kept away from it.

Next up is a school bus ($5.95).

It just looks too small. The length might work for a smaller school bus, but the height and width is too small.
I might be able to pass it off as some kind of SUV if I do some major modifications to it.
I think it is probably in scale with the car I got from K-Mart.
