Second Hand Store Purchases

I stopped by a second store and went through their toys.
Here are the ones I settled on. The entire purchase was $2.40.

First up is a fire truck. Looks to be the right scale.

Next up is a tanker. It seemed a bit big, but couldn't beat the price.

Then I found a couple of old happy meal toys.

First one is Doc Hudson from Cars. I'm going to have to try to take it apart and
remove the windup mechanisms. Obviously it will need a repaint.

The other Cars toy was Sally. She'll need a repaint and I'll have
to do something about her bumper to get rid of that mouth.

K-Mart Purchase

I swung by K-Mart and looked through their toys and found the following vehicle set ($5).

It has a race car, a pick up truck, and an equipment truck.

First up is the race car. It is undersized, I'd say probably 1:55 ratio. I don't think I'll end up using it, but who knows.

Next up is the pickup truck. It seems a bit tall, but not beyond the possible for some trucks I've seen.

Last up is the equipment truck. It actually looks to be an ambulance,
so I'll probably take all the stickers off and return the paint job to that.

Scale shots of cheap miniature vehicles

Here is a police cruiser, Gordon from the Batman heroclix.

Another shot of the police cruiser. It looks like a perfect size, just needs some touch up paint to really pop.

Here is one of the humvees with General Ross from heroclix. Looks pretty good.

Another image of the humvee.

I am very satisfied with this purchased. 4 vehicles for $10, so $2.50 a piece.

Cheap Vehicles for Gaming

FIRST POST: MILITARY AND POLICE VEHICLES FOR D20 MODERN GAMES

In my effort to find low cost RPG items, I found the following two sets of toys at Hastings. The hummers and police cruisers look about the right size for use with miniatures. The soldiers and police officers are probably too tall (about a head taller than standard miniatures), though they might be good for parts. I'll post some pictures with miniatures to show the scale of the vehicles and see how they look. Each bag cost me $5.
