US Toy Purchase Part 1

I made a purchase from US Toy and got five vehicles.
This post I'm going to look at the vehicles that look pretty close to the right size.

First up is a tow truck ($3.95).

The tow truck looks a little small, but not horribly so. I've seen pickups about this size before, so while I might not see it for a real tow truck, just as a compact pickup truck it looks fine.

Next up is an antique roadster ($4.95).

The roadster looks pretty good. And I think it will fit in nicely with the cars I picked up from the Goodwill the other day.

Last up is a safari vehicle ($3.95).

I think this was the best size fit. The miniature is a little wider than normally so it might not be as obvious.
It was also one of the cheaper vehicles, so that was nice.
I might pick up some more of these later. Obviously the paint job has got to go.

Next post I'll have the 2 vehicles I got that I thought the sizes were unfortunately off a bit.

Second Hand Store Purchases

I stopped by a second store and went through their toys.
Here are the ones I settled on. The entire purchase was $2.40.

First up is a fire truck. Looks to be the right scale.

Next up is a tanker. It seemed a bit big, but couldn't beat the price.

Then I found a couple of old happy meal toys.

First one is Doc Hudson from Cars. I'm going to have to try to take it apart and
remove the windup mechanisms. Obviously it will need a repaint.

The other Cars toy was Sally. She'll need a repaint and I'll have
to do something about her bumper to get rid of that mouth.

Found at the Goodwill Store

I found three old car models at the Good will store ($2.50 each). They all look to be the right size.

K-Mart Purchase

I swung by K-Mart and looked through their toys and found the following vehicle set ($5).

It has a race car, a pick up truck, and an equipment truck.

First up is the race car. It is undersized, I'd say probably 1:55 ratio. I don't think I'll end up using it, but who knows.

Next up is the pickup truck. It seems a bit tall, but not beyond the possible for some trucks I've seen.

Last up is the equipment truck. It actually looks to be an ambulance,
so I'll probably take all the stickers off and return the paint job to that.

More Dollar General Buys

A couple of more pics with the cars I got last time. The porsche looks better with Bruce Wayne.

So here are three more cars I got ($2.75 each).

These cars were screwed down.

Mini Cooper Convertible.

2006 Chevrolet Corvette

2006 Dodge Challenger

Some vehicles from Dollar General

I stopped by the Dollar General before work the other day and picked up a few vehicles.

First up are some motocycles ($1 each).

The size looks pretty good. They are little wide, but not bad. I think the blue one would make a good police cycle. Now I just have to find a Ponch miniature.

Next up are a couple of cars. One is a porsche and the other is a minicooper (I think they were $2.75 each).

The minicooper looks good.

I had thought the porsche looked a little small initially. I compare it to some other miniatures later and it didn't look too bad.

Last up is a tank ($3).

I think it fits pretty good.

When I removed the tank from the box I found these two tabs holding it down (I had to turn them to pop them off). I think I might use them for flying bases for spaceships I have been painting.
